Job Summary

Select the specified finish to determine metal removal amounts and examine parts for finish acceptability. Operate grinders and powered hand tools to remove burrs, blend surfaces, and correct machining errors using carbide burr tools. Perform metal blending on steel, aluminum, magnesium, and titanium, creating radii by hand. Inspect equipment daily, report issues, and replace worn belts or grinding wheels while maintaining a clean, organized work area. Comply with prints, specifications, and safety guidelines while proactively identifying hazards. This role requires U.S. citizenship, permanent residence, or protected person status due to ITAR compliance. Regular on-site attendance is required.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship
  • U.S. permanent residence (Green Card)
  • Status as a protected person
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • One (1) year experience in a production/manufacturing role requiring the use of hand tools and material-handling equipment
  • Recent vocational training in a metal-working or other technical role
  • Experience reading and accurately interpreting shop blueprints, technical drawings, and customer specifications
  • Regular attendance on-site at the workplace
  • Visual acuity to interpret readings on gauges and other measuring devices
  • Ability to regularly stand and walk throughout the facility
  • Ability to regularly lift, carry (short distances), and push/pull up to 50 pounds using peer assistance and/or other lifting & material-handling equipment
  • Ability to occasionally reach overhead and reach out or down to perform duties
  • Ability to occasionally bend, crawl, stoop, squat, or kneel
  • Ability to frequently use hand or fingers to manually inspect parts and operate tools and/or material handling controls
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on tools & equipment used
  • Ability to load & unload tumbler hopper as needed
  • Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Ability to follow directions consistently and accept responsibility for actions and work product
  • Ability to comply with applicable manufacturing processes, work procedures, and supervisor instructions
  • Ability to adhere to safety guidelines and procedures
  • Ability to proactively identify job hazards and collaborate with leadership to minimize hazards and ensure employee safety
  • Ability to use PPE, including hearing protection, eye and hand protection, and use of safety footwear

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience using precision measuring instruments including mics and calipers
  • Experience using powered electric and/or pneumatic hand tools including grinders or sanders
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience
