Job Summary
Conduct on-the-job training for production associates covering Job Hazards, PPE, Food Safety, GMPs, and safety topics including Lock Out Tag Out and Confined Space. Review and explain job instruction training while working with team leads to ensure associates perform tasks correctly and safely. Provide job improvement training for current staff and assist with Production department projects. Communicate daily work schedules and departmental needs to the Department Superintendent, notifying them immediately when corrections are necessary for OJT or Job Safety Analysis. This role supports Butterball's mission to help people pass love on through quality turkey products. Bilingual candidates in English, Spanish, or Creole are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Knowledgeable of all departmental jobs (online and offline) with the ability to describe and perform all line tasks at line speed
- Ability to work independently and to be self-motivated in performing job tasks
- Ability to be a role model for good work behaviors and attendance for all team members
- Ability to communicate with associates at all levels, from hourly to plant management
- Ability to provide guidance for new associates regarding the facility Safety and Food Safety programs
- Strong working knowledge of policies, procedures, and rules of the plant and company
- Must be physically capable of working extended hours if needed and in a wet environment, standing for long periods of time, and operating processing equipment
- Must be able to wear and work in personal protective equipment while in the manufacturing environment
- Must be able to work in a food processing plant with a high noise level, storage coolers/facilities
- Must be able to work around processing plant equipment
- Must be able to work in an environment where the noise level may exceed 85 DBA and require hearing protection
- Translation and interpretation skills, if bilingual
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience conducting on-the-job training (individual or large groups)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or data entry (Microsoft Forms, Word, Excel)
- Bilingual English Spanish or English-Creole (read, write, speak)
