Job Summary
Lead the M. Christopher White School of Divinity by supervising faculty, curricular matters, and department chairs while serving as the school's chief representative to the Provost. Preside over faculty meetings, ensure shared governance, and manage academic programs through new development, review, and budget oversight. Coordinate accreditation activities, oversee teaching schedules and faculty loads, and conduct annual performance evaluations and tenure reviews. Collaborate with the Office of Enrollment Management on growth strategies and interview prospective faculty based on search committee recommendations.
Required Qualifications
- Earned a doctorate or terminal degree appropriate to the discipline from an accredited university
- Successful, full-time, previous higher education teaching experience and demonstrated commitment to excellence in pedagogy
- Successful higher education administrative experience in a role such as Chairperson, Director, Associate Dean, or Dean
- A professing Christian committed to advancing the mission of Christian higher education
- Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with senior administrators, colleagues, students, and community partners
- Highly developed emotional intelligence and polished executive presence
- Strong analytical and quantitative abilities and attention to detail
- Credentials and professional activity that qualify the candidate for the rank of Professor
- A significant record of successful leadership experience as a senior university administrator
- Experience with academic budgets
- Management of personnel
- Experience with federal, state, or private grants
- Ability to work in a transparent and cooperative manner in support of the mission of Gardner-Webb University
