Job Summary
The Dean of Students collaborates with the building administrative team to promote a respectful, safe learning environment and to address attendance and disciplinary issues. The role supervises assigned non-certified staff, supports implementation of school policies, and coordinates disciplinary practices in alignment with district guidelines. Strong communication with students, families, and staff, plus the ability to develop and evaluate disciplinary programs, are essential. The position is based at Troy Middle School and involves a 195-day administrative contract with duties that contribute to a positive school climate and student success.
Required Qualifications
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with General Administrative Endorsement
- Teaching experience in a middle school environment preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work well with administrators, teachers, students, and families
- Alternatives to the above qualifications may be found by the Board as appropriate and acceptable
