Job Summary
Dean of Students works with the Principal to carry out the school’s discipline and behavior programs, providing proactive leadership to engage stakeholders in supporting students’ academic achievement and development. Responsibilities include investigating and resolving discipline problems, interviewing students and witnesses, adjudicating minor infractions, maintaining disciplinary records, presenting cases in due process for suspension/expulsion, developing procedures in line with district policies and state laws, supervising students on campus, coordinating safety and emergency planning, communicating with families and community agencies, and mentoring at-risk students. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) and a minimum of two years of exemplary teaching; teaching certification is preferred. Key skills include leadership, organization, prioritization, effective communication, collaboration with various stakeholders, and the ability to foster a positive school climate. The role is Exempt, Full Time, with normal work hours across 215 days, and involves some evenings/nights and moderate travel.
