Job Summary
Dean of Students at Walker-Grant Middle School responsible for assisting administrators, teachers, parents, and students in resolving student attendance, behavioral and disciplinary problems in a consistent manner. Oversees PBIS implementation and staff training, maintains records of disciplinary actions in the SIS, confers with parents and staff on discipline matters, and coordinates engagement opportunities to support students’ social, emotional, and behavioral well-being. Requires a current Virginia teacher's license and 5+ years of teaching experience (middle school preferred); a Master’s degree in education is preferred. Salary placement on the teacher scale depends on education and experience. Reports to the Walker-Grant Middle School principal. Beginning date is July 13, 2026. Additional duties include collaboration with counselors, developing policies for safety, and assisting in addressing student attendance and related programs.
Required Qualifications
- Hold a current Virginia teacher's license.
- Master's degree in educational field preferred.
- 5+ years of successful teaching experience (middle school preferred).
