Job Summary
Dean of Student Services at Hinds Community College on the Utica campus; serves as primary point of contact for Student Services, oversees daily operations, leads policy development and initiatives to engage students, support well-being, and enhance enrollment/retention. Must coordinate with faculty and staff, lead the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT), act as Deputy Title IX contact, manage student conduct processes, ensure compliance with FERPA/Title IX/ADA, oversee campus engagement and retention initiatives, update the student handbook, and supervise staff within the Dean of Students Office. Emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion, collaboration across departments, and delivering high-quality services in a 12-month, 40-hour-per-week environment.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in higher education administration, counseling, student affairs, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in student services or related areas
- Experience in crisis management and student advocacy
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations affecting student services (e.g., FERPA, Title IX, ADA)
- Proficiency in utilizing technology to enhance student engagement and support services
