Job Summary
Dean of Service Learning and Field Studies leads K-8 experiential education across day and overnight trips, service learning, and community partnerships. Responsibilities include designing integrated experiential learning within the curriculum, aligning programs with Quaker values, cultivating partnerships with local nonprofits and civic leaders, planning and coordinating off-site trips, ensuring safety and risk management, overseeing budgets, and facilitating faculty collaboration and reflection practices. The role requires strategic leadership, program design, and operational oversight to advance student agency, equity, and meaningful community engagement within a Quaker-supported school culture.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Experiential Education, School Leadership, or a related field
- Deep understanding of child development (K-8), project-based learning, place-based education, and student-centered behavioral reflection models
- Demonstrated experience managing complex trip logistics, vendor relationships, contracts, and risk management protocols
- Strong commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, with the ability to build authentic relationships across diverse communities
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills tailored for a variety of audiences (families, community partners, faculty, students and administration)
