Job Summary
Dean of Students in Early Childhood, full-time (40 hours/week, 42 weeks/year) for Kentwood Public Schools. Oversees MTSS, provides evaluation feedback, supports instruction and data-driven differentiation, uses culturally responsive teaching, coordinates testing (M-STEP, WIDA, etc.), maintains positive relationships with families and community, and helps implement restorative justice practices. Serves as acting principal/director in the director's absence and coordinates school meetings, family/community involvement, and student interventions (EL, 31a, Special Education, Title I). Requires Master’s Degree in administration/supervision/education and relevant leadership/education experience.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in administration, supervision or education
- Special Education Supervisor Approval, preferred
- Three years successful teaching experience
- Special Education endorsement (EI, CI, ASD or LD)
- Experience working with students with disabilities
- Experience working in an early childhood setting, preferred
- Leadership experience in a school setting, preferred
- Ability to express ideas clearly in oral and written communications
- Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
