Job Summary
Dean of the College of Nursing at Augusta University leads strategic growth in academic and research programs, fosters interprofessional collaboration, cultivates community partnerships, and secures funding to support future growth. The role oversees teaching, research, and service missions, supports accreditation processes, and serves as a key advocate for advancing nursing education and workforce development within Georgia’s health system and regional partners.
Required Qualifications
- A registered nurse with a terminal graduate degree in nursing (PhD or DNP recommended for appointment at rank of Professor)
- Unencumbered nursing license or eligibility for licensure in Georgia
- Executive leadership experience in nursing or academic health center
- Experience with accreditation and regulatory processes (CCNE, ACEN, or equivalent)
- Demonstrated history of securing external funding (federal grants, foundations, contracts, philanthropic resources)
- Financial and budgeting experience including oversight of complex academic budgets and long-term strategic resource allocation
- Philanthropic and fundraising experience including cultivating donors and community partners
- Strategic planning experience aligned with institutional priorities
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with faculty, students, staff, and external partners
- Experience building partnerships with healthcare systems and community organizations
- Commitment to interprofessional collaboration and community engagement
- Experience recruiting and supporting educators and scholars in teaching, research, and practice
- Commitment to advancing nursing workforce development in Georgia
- Commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and clinical practice
- Ability to work with leadership to promote healthcare advancement across Georgia
