Job Summary
Lead academic and administrative planning for the Health Sciences Pathway, directing program development, curriculum innovation, and strategic workforce alignment based on national and local data. Execute executive oversight of accreditation processes, regulatory compliance, and external partnership agreements while managing multi-year capital forecasting and grant administration. Supervise Associate Deans and faculty, oversee hiring committees, and secure clinical placements through high-level community and hospital collaborations. Manage departmental budgets, monitor enrollment metrics, and ensure full compliance with state and federal healthcare education standards.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree
- 7–10 years of progressive management and administrative experience in higher education or a complex healthcare organization
- Direct teaching and/or professional work-related experience in the health sciences field
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills, including sound judgment, flexibility, and decisiveness in driving strategic planning and managing complex institutional issues
- Active professional license or certification in a healthcare field
- Proven ability to translate an institution-wide strategic plan into a functional, measurable roadmap for a complex academic unit
- Expert knowledge of public budgeting, capital asset forecasting, and the financial compliance rules governing federal/state grants
- Competency in interpreting contractual provisions, navigating collective bargaining agreements (if applicable), and working alongside legal counsel to negotiate partnership agreements
- Deep understanding of the compliance landscapes governing health education, clinical placements, and specialized programmatic accreditations (e.g., ACEN, CODA, CAAHEP, etc.)
- Ability to secure mandatory student clinical placements, faculty resources, and external program support through partnerships with community stakeholders and healthcare networks
- Ability to represent Broward College in high-level interactions with hospitals, governmental bodies, local health care providers and regulatory agencies
- Ability to spearhead strategic fundraising and development initiatives on behalf of the Health Science programs
- Ability to review, execute, and implement college affiliation agreements between Broward College and external entities
- Ability to mitigate institutional risk by identifying compliance with clinical agency guidelines, resolving contractual disputes alongside legal counsel, and ensuring complete student compliance with background checks and medical requirements
- Ability to provide direct executive oversight for all programmatic accreditation processes
- Ability to monitor, interpret, and enforce adherence to changing State and Federal regulations governing healthcare workforce education
- Ability to direct departments and specialized programs in a manner that ensures absolute compliance during self-studies, external audits, and national accreditation site visits
- Ability to oversee the protection, governance, and safe keeping of highly confidential data acquired during the operational course of work
- Ability to supervise, evaluate, and mentor Associate Deans, program directors, faculty, and support staff
- Ability to direct the strategic design of hiring committees for faculty and staff
- Ability to lead teaching, learning, and student support services by enhancing professional development opportunities and supporting faculty orientation
- Ability to foster a cooperative, transparent work climate built on communication, trust, and shared accountability among administration, faculty, and support staff
- Ability to model inclusive excellence through specific leadership actions that champion the College's diversity goals in the recruitment, hiring, and retention of workforce talent
- Ability to prepare, administer, and manage large-scale departmental health science budgets
- Ability to lead multi-year capital forecasting and equipment replacement planning
- Ability to seek, develop, and manage external state, federal, and private grants
- Ability to monitor enrollment metrics and partner strategically with Admissions and Recruiters across multi-campus locations to ensure target enrollment, retention, and student success goals are met
- Ability to collaborate with regional hospital partners to secure external student scholarships and dedicated pathway funding

Desired Qualifications
- Doctorate, ideally in Education, Administration, a Health Sciences discipline, or a closely related field
