Job Summary
Dealer Trainee role at Terre Haute Casino Resort involves attending a training program starting July 27, 2026 to learn how to deal a variety of games and to transition to a Dealer position in a live gaming environment. Trainees will learn game operation and conduct for table games, including card handling, shuffling (single and up to eight decks), announcing hand totals and currency conversions to chips, maintaining bankroll protection, chip handling, adherence to Indiana Gaming Commission regulations, internal controls, and standard operating procedures, with a focus on delivering a memorable guest experience and strong customer service. The position requires completing Dealer School training, passing a basic math assessment, and succeeding in a gaming audition to verify technical skills and instruction-following ability. Education and experience include High School Diploma or GED preferred, with the training and qualifications designed to prepare the candidate for eventual Dealer responsibilities and advancement opportunities; the work environment is a casino setting with potential exposure to smoke and a loud environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Must successfully complete Dealer School including satisfactory attendance based on the training schedule
- Prior to entry in the training class must pass a basic math assessment for speed and accuracy performing basic math calculations
- Must satisfactorily pass a gaming audition administered by Terre Haute Casino Resort Table Games Supervisor or Manager to verify that the applicant is knowledgeable in technical skills, game pace, awareness of game protection responsibilities, and is able to follow instruction and can do so while interacting with guests to generate fun and excitement
