Job Summary
Provide specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing with a focus on language development, communication skills, and academic achievement; develop and implement IEPs and 504 plans, lead or participate in IEP meetings with families and multidisciplinary teams; collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and ensure accessible instruction; support use of assistive technology (e.g., FM systems, hearing aids, cochlear implants) and train staff on best practices for DHH students; maintain accurate, confidential records and partner with families, interpreters, audiologists, and related service providers to support student success in school settings.
Required Qualifications
- Teacher of Students Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing PEL from ISBE
- Department of Justice/FBI Background Check (or equivalent state or national fingerprint clearance)
- Eligibility to work in the United States
