Job Summary
Data Modeler to design and implement scalable, enterprise-grade data models for an insurance client, spanning Raw, Silver, and Gold layers to support batch and real-time ingestion, reporting, and governance. Tailored for Snowflake, DBT, and modern data pipelines (AWS Glue, Kinesis) with emphasis on semantic consistency, integration of multi-source data, and enabling self-service analytics through optimized Gold-layer datasets (Power BI). Responsibilities include conceptual/logical/physical data modeling, enforcing business rules and data definitions, aligning with insurance domain standards (Policy, Claims, Billing, Customer), and collaborating with engineering teams to implement transformations and ensure data quality and governance.
Required Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience in Data Modeling / Data Architecture
- Strong expertise in Snowflake (schema design, performance considerations)
- Proficiency with DBT (model structuring and transformation logic)
- Advanced SQL
- Experience with AWS Glue (batch data pipelines)
- Experience with Amazon Kinesis (real-time streaming)
- Insurance domain data modeling experience (Policy, Claims, Billing, Underwriting)
- Knowledge of medallion architecture (Raw, Silver, Gold)
- Experience designing models for cloud-based data platforms and modern data stacks
- Understanding of data governance, metadata, and data quality practices
- Power BI or similar analytics/reporting tooling
