Job Summary
Operation-focused role operating cylinder extrusion presses, loading metal plates, unloading produced cylinders, and performing dimensional/visual inspections. Track hourly production, perform calculations, and legibly record results. May be assigned additional duties by supervision. Requires ability to read safety and operating procedures, write routine reports, stand for long periods, lift up to 35 lbs, use a dead-blow hammer, wear required PPE, and communicate effectively with coworkers to maintain a safe workspace.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, and able to walk, reach up and reach down
- Able to lift 35 lbs., and able to swing a dead blow hammer to tighten machine screws
- Accountable for maintaining a safe work environment
- Wear all required PPE associated with the material
- Ability to speak effectively to co-workers
- Experience in operating cylinder extrusion presses and loading/unloading cylinders (as per responsibilities)
