DCS Control Engineer

Job Summary
Configure DCS systems, PLCs, and safety instrumented systems by designing, testing, debugging, and documenting user applications in software products like iFIX. Act as a liaison with manufacturers to diagnose problems, optimize process control strategies, and implement automation solutions while managing alarm and burner management systems. Execute software version upgrades, develop custom interfaces, and coordinate with plant engineers to resolve process control issues. Work collaboratively on customer sites or in the corporate office to deliver innovative solutions that ensure reliable, safe, and cost-effective operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or relevant software/computer related fields
- two to four years related experience and/or training
- spreadsheet manipulation
- database manipulation

- DCS systems such as Operator Display implementation
- I/O database implementation
- Control Strategy implementation
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively alongside Puffer-Sweiven's customers, management, and sales organization
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and algorithms to practical and complex situations
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form that apply to several abstract and concrete variables

Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Cloud Based Virtual environments
- knowledge of basic network architectures

- DCS: DeltaV, DeltaV SIS, Honeywell, Yokagowa, PlantPaX, Foxboro, 800Xa, ABB, Rockwell, HC900
- PLC: Modicon, Triconex, Siemens, SLC5, PLC5
- Legacy Systems: Fisher Provox, Fisher Rs3
