Job Summary
Conduct outreach to disaster-affected clients and complete eligibility assessments while performing home and community visits for ongoing support. Collaborate with families to develop comprehensive recovery plans, monitor progress through follow-up visits, and assist clients in securing benefits and community resources. Act as a liaison among family services, health professionals, and stakeholders, maintaining detailed records using online software and preparing reports for supervisors. Provide status updates, participate in educational workshops, and perform additional duties as assigned to support the mission of empowering people to build better lives.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED with three (3) years of relevant experience
- Relevant experience in child welfare, emergency disaster response, and/or recovery environments
- Driver's License with clear record
- Must maintain regular and reliable attendance
- Must be available and willing to travel to various locations
- Must be available and willing to work nights, weekends and holidays
- Must be available and willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as required to meet business needs
- Must be available and willing to deploy within 24 hours to disaster locations for as long as 2-4 weeks
- Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences, human services, or social services
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in child welfare, emergency disaster response, and/or recovery environments
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams to develop case plans
- Bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish)
