Job Summary
Disaster Case Manager responsibilities include conducting client outreach, completing eligibility assessments, performing home and community visits, collaborating with clients to develop recovery plans for unmet disaster-caused needs, monitoring progress, assisting clients in securing benefits and social services, and coordinating with family services and health professionals. The role requires maintaining accurate records, utilizing online case-management software, preparing reports, attending trainings, and providing high-quality customer service to victims of disasters. Education may be a Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or a High School diploma/GED with relevant experience; a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel, including deployment to disaster locations for up to several weeks, are required. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED with three years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree holders: minimum of two years of experience in child welfare, emergency disaster response, and/or recovery environments (strongly preferred)
- Driver's License with clear record
- Willingness to travel to various locations; deployment within 24 hours to disaster locations for up to 2-4 weeks; availability nights, weekends, holidays as required
- Bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish) preferred
