Job Summary
Prepare lessons and teach procedures based on existing syllabi for courses in Chiropractic Technique, Clinical Education, or Basic Sciences. Demonstrate and monitor student practice of proper skills, techniques, and patient interactions. Compile, administer, and grade examinations while maintaining a safe classroom environment. Create syllabi and course outlines, and contribute to evaluations of students' non-cognitive behavior. Maintain expertise in the area of instruction. Work variable hours as a part-time, non-benefitted adjunct instructor.
Required Qualifications
- Prior teaching experience in a university or professional education program
- Graduate of a CCE-accredited Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) program
- Maintain an active license to practice as a chiropractic physician in the state of Oregon (or acquire such licensure shortly after hire)
- Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
- Ability to access current electronic information
- Have sufficient stamina to provide lecture and/or lab instruction with brief breaks over a 1 to 4-hour period
- Have sufficient mobility to move among students engaged in various types of lab activities
- Have sufficient visual acuity to accurately identify pertinent structures and/or details as instructional activities demand
- Have sufficient manual dexterity to operate pertinent tools and/or equipment as instructional activities demand
