Job Summary
Oversee daily produce department operations including inbound receiving, outbound order fulfillment, inventory control, and quality assurance. Verify shipment quantities and temperature compliance, coordinate dock scheduling, and manage returns by determining disposition and documenting root causes. Supervise order picking, packing, and palletizing while enforcing FIFO rotation and maintaining cold chain integrity. Implement quality control standards, conduct audits, train staff, and ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, and FSMA regulations. Lead warehouse team development, manage scheduling, and monitor metrics such as shrink and damage. Work in cold storage conditions (34–55°F) with early morning, weekend, and holiday availability.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in warehouse operations, preferably in fresh produce or perishable goods
- 1–2+ years in a supervisory or management role
- Strong knowledge of produce handling, grading, and cold chain logistics
- Familiarity with food safety standards (HACCP, FSMA, GMPs)
- Experience with warehouse management systems
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Available to work on early mornings, weekends and holidays as necessary
Desired Qualifications
- HACCP certification or equivalent food safety training
- Bilingual (English/Chinese or Spanish)
