Job Summary
Process shipments according to TCP standards by inspecting packages for proper labeling and packaging, then verify identifying information against bills of lading, invoices, and orders. Physically palletize cases, route items to departments, and disperse merchandise to stores using pick lights and automated conveyor systems or radio frequency scanners. Perform audits to verify SKU quantities, input data via RF scanners, and replace cartons as needed. Maintain a clean work area, notify supervisors of irregularities, and provide customer service to delivery drivers. Requires regularly lifting up to 25 pounds, standing, and working in a loud environment with moving mechanical parts.
Required Qualifications
- Must have the ability to read and comprehend instructions and to write correspondence
- Basic math skills are required, such as the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
- Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions and the ability to effectively communicate with Supervisor
- Basic PC skills are required
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
