Job Summary
DBT Coach for Bill Wilson Center focused on housing, mental health care, and support services for young adults ages 18-24 with former foster/probationary backgrounds. Responsibilities include Intake and assessment; providing case management services; delivering Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in individual and group settings; conducting weekly/bi-weekly case management meetings using DBT methodologies; creating and hosting cohort-based weekly skills groups covering Core Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotion Regulation, and Distress Tolerance; offering telephone-based coaching for in-the-moment support; leveraging community resources to meet youth needs; maintaining data and preparing reports; attending agency program meetings; ensuring safety and cleanliness of residence and office sites; coordinating with outside agencies to ensure quality of care; maintaining regular attendance and professionalism under pressure. Requires strong communication, ability to work with diverse populations, and driving to fulfill duties.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work or related field from a four-year college or university (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Housing needs and assistance experience
- Experience working with a culturally diverse population
- Personal or lived experience with the criminal/legal system, housing instability, social services, or other systemic challenges is valued
- Certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
- Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts for reporting
- Driving is a requirement; must have current driver’s license, access to a vehicle and personal automobile insurance
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification (or complete within 30 days of hire)
- Fingerprinting/background check as required by applicable regulations
- TB test required
- Ability to interpret various instructions and use Internet/Spreadsheet/Word Processing software
