Job Summary
Administer, monitor, and optimize Azure SQL Server and Azure SQL Managed Instance environments while managing complex database migration projects using Azure Database Migration Service. Perform daily administration tasks via SQL Server Management Studio, implement high availability and disaster recovery strategies, and configure Azure networking, security, and encryption protocols. Troubleshoot production database issues, optimize performance through indexing and query tuning, and automate infrastructure provisioning with Terraform. Ensure compliance and governance by applying Azure best practices and collaborating with application and infrastructure teams. This role supports the organization's cloud infrastructure goals for secure, high-performance database operations.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as an Azure SQL DBA or Database Administrator
- Strong expertise in Azure SQL Server and Azure SQL Managed Instance
- Hands-on experience with Azure Database Migration Service (DMS) and database migration projects
- Proficiency in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
- Experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation
- Strong knowledge of Azure Networking, database security, encryption, and auditing
- Expertise in database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting
- Experience implementing Backup & Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
