Job Summary
Monitor, audit, and optimize Db2 databases in mainframe (z/OS) environments to ensure data integrity, performance, and proper usage. Partner with leadership to define database strategy, advise on data access, and resolve data issues or conflicts. Provide technical leadership by monitoring resources, recommending structural changes for scalability, developing testing plans for upgrades, and evaluating new technologies. Work independently with escalation on complex issues, including on-call and off-hours support. Requires strong experience with Db2 on z/OS, 5+ years RDBMS experience, and a Bachelor's degree.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience with Db2 on z/OS
- 5+ years RDBMS experience
- 7+ years RDBMS experience with DBA certification
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Experience with database design
- Experience with physical DB administration
- Experience with performance tuning
- Experience troubleshooting DBMS issues to ensure availability and reliability
- Experience with data security
- Experience with access controls
- Experience with enforcing standards
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to varied stakeholders
- Experience working with IT teams
- Experience working with vendors
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Db2 (DML, DDL, DCL)
- Background in z/OS COBOL
