Job Summary
Install and migrate DB2 database releases, execute data fixes, and define recovery functions for Payroll Management, Pension Payroll, and Financial Management systems. Author and validate database processes, monitor backup/recovery health, and perform standard tuning procedures like runstats and reorgs. Troubleshoot online and batch programs during production, testing, and development phases while managing IBM tickets. Design technical tests to ensure vendor deliveries meet FISA standards and assist with IBM InfoSphere Data Replication system administration. Support disaster recovery drills and tool upgrades. Requires a baccalaureate degree and four to eight years of datacenter engineering experience.
Required Qualifications
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering or a related field
- Four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, complex IT
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college
- Eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, complex IT infrastructure engineering
- Experience supporting D82 v12 (or higher) on an IBM zJOS platform
- Experience with DB2 databases
- Experience with Payroll Management System (PMS)
- Experience with Pension Payroll Management System (PPMS)
- Experience with Financial Management System (FMS)
- Ability to work with application development teams
- Ability to install and migrate releases
- Ability to support execution of data fixes
- Ability to define new and execute databases recovery functions
- Ability to define and execute standard database tuning procedures (e.g., runstats, reorgs)
- Ability to monitor the health of key database operations (backup/recovery processes, logging, system response times)
- Ability to open and manage tickets logged with IBM to resolution
- Ability to perform DB2 DB troubleshooting of online and batch programs during production, user acceptance testing, integrated system testing, performance testing and development phases
- Ability to perform all system administration activities for the IBM InfoSphere Data Replication product
- High availability of the product is required
