Job Summary
Operate horizontal directional drill rigs to install underground telecommunications cable conduit and fiber optic cables. Perform all duties according to prescribed safety procedures while managing site setup, cleanup, and traffic control. Confirm bore paths with foremen, conduct job site analyses, and record tool head depths. Inspect workmanship against specifications and ensure proper clearances. Maintain equipment through greasing, oiling, and minor repairs. Lead field teams effectively as directed by the supervisor. Requires a valid driver's license and DOT health card, with a Class A CDL preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Good verbal communication skills
- Valid Driver's License
- Valid DOT Health Card
- Must be physically fit to endure the daily activity involved with the job
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
- Must be familiar with industry standards, policies, guidelines, and procedures
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
