Job Summary
Conduct surveillance, monitor CCTV, and interview customers to identify theft, fraud, or safety risks. Maintain professional relationships with law enforcement, communicate investigations to leadership, and assist with cash handling and transfers. Apprehend suspects when prevention fails while ensuring compliance with ethical standards and company policies. Perform floor and exterior walks to mitigate security risks, direct traffic during events, and enforce parking regulations. Issue electric carts and wheelchairs, examine incoming property including firearms, and react to medical emergencies or inclement weather. Complete monthly safety reports and maintain all apprehension records. Work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- College graduate preferred
- Proven track record of strong communication and organization skills
- Prior Loss prevention experience (2-3 years)
- Currently certified or willing to become certified in CPR and OC (Oleoresin Capsicum aka pepper spray) foam deployment
- Ability to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation
- Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or early morning hours based on business needs
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds of force frequently
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds of force constantly
- Must be able to lift 100 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to work assigned schedules which may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Arrive to work and meetings 10 minutes early
- Ability to adapt to a changing work environment
- Ability to apply concepts of basic math, grammar, punctuation, and spelling
- Meets Scheels dress and grooming expectations in support of a professional, clean, and welcoming environment for customers, co-workers, and business partners
- Demonstrate pride and ownership of their work while meeting expected deadlines
