Job Summary
Pharmacy Technician I assists in drug distribution and prepares unit-dose medications under pharmacist supervision. Responsibilities include delivering medications, reading orders/prescriptions, preparing medications for dispensing (including pediatric/geriatric formulations), communicating with patients/caregivers to arrange delivery or pickup, handling controlled substances with proper records, managing inventory, labeling products, performing dosage calculations, and maintaining compliance with departmental standards and records. Requires the ability to work under standard procedures and interact with the pharmacy team and patients as part of a hospital setting.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Pharmacy Technician license or trainee license per state board (MD, OH, PA, WV)
- Remote workers license requirement if remote work from residence
