Job Summary
Provide support care under the direction of the Registered Nurse by promoting positive patient experience, assisting with daily living activities, and performing basic patient care functions including ADLs, ambulation, and vital signs. Execute advanced technical skills such as phlebotomy, dressing changes, oral suctioning, and Foley catheter discontinuation as needed, while maintaining accurate data entry, managing unit supplies, and transporting medications. Engage in hourly patient rounding, answer call lights promptly, and collaborate with the healthcare team to resolve concerns or escalate issues to the charge nurse. Maintain a safe environment through proper hand hygiene, infection control policies, and equipment maintenance, while documenting all patient care in the EMR.
Required Qualifications
- Rising Senior in Good Standing Other / Related Field or High School Diploma / GED
- BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
- Graduation from a State approved program for Certified Nursing Assistants or Patient Care Tech Program
- Ability to follow detailed directions
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Clear verbal and written communication, specifically ability to document
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team
- Wellstar minimum age of hire is 16
