Job Summary
Organize and lead recreational and educational activities, including outdoor play, walks, and community events, while teaching age-appropriate games, reading, and crafts to foster development. Maintain continuous supervision and safety by adhering to state-required child-to-staff ratios and ensuring proper nutrition through meal service and snack distribution. Teach healthy habits such as eating, resting, and toileting while utilizing positive discipline techniques and encouraging environmental cleanup. Communicate daily with parents via updates and completed reports, and maintain a clean, sanitized classroom environment. Complete mandatory training and development hours to meet licensing standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 19 years of age
- Basic Life Support (CPR) certification or willing to obtain upon hire
- Certified in First Aid or willing to obtain upon hire
- Must be fingerprinted by Nebraska State Patrol upon hire
- Clearance with the State of Nebraska Central Registry of Child Abuse and Neglect
- Patience, love, and care for children with the ability to adapt to various levels of behavioral and physical needs
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and staff
