Job Summary
The Day Care Head Teacher directs the daily operation of the preschool classroom and organizes and implements developmentally appropriate activities for preschool children, including those with disabilities. Responsibilities include observing and reporting on child development and progress, preparing and sharing information with parents, supervising day care instructional assistants, and adapting the learning environment to meet individual needs. The role supports IEP goals under supervision, collaborates with professionals to implement services, and maintains classroom records and parent communications to inform education planning and progress.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or 64 college semester hours preferred OR Early Childhood Preparation: minimum one year early childhood training or experience OR Child Development Associate credential (CDA) OR at least 12 semester hours in early childhood education or development
