Job Summary
Assist teachers in implementing safety rules and supervising children's activities indoors and outdoors while conducting daily facility inspections. Support the classroom by preparing weekly lesson plans, developing teaching aids, and facilitating arts, crafts, and group activities that promote social, physical, and intellectual growth. Provide daily health checks for children, assist with meals and toiletry needs, and work individually with students requiring special attention. Coordinate instructional efforts with teachers, maintain an orderly learning environment, and participate in teaching team meetings and required training sessions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of six (6) units in Early Childhood Development or Teacher Assistant permit
- Must be able to read, write and communicate
- Must always possess fingerprint clearance during employment
- Must have verification of T.B. clearance at the time of employment issued within six (6) months prior to employment
- Must pass pre-employment Health Screening, T.B. Test and Drug Screening
- Must submit to a flu vaccine once a year or submit a waiver
- Must provide vaccination record for influenza, pertussis and measles, at the time of employment
- Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear
- Must be frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms
- Must be occasionally required to stand and walk
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
- Must have close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
- Applicants should provide work availability schedule
