Job Summary
Serve as a Day-to-Day Substitute Teacher in the absence of the regular classroom teacher, performing all duties assigned by the School Principal. Applicants must hold at least a 4-year Bachelor's Degree with a 2.0 GPA and either a valid WV Substitute Permit, a full teaching certification (not provisional), or proof of completion of a county-approved substitute training program within the last year. Non-certified candidates must complete the substitute training class prior to applying. Selected candidates will undergo a pre-screening interview, followed by a workshop and orientation to finalize employment paperwork and required screenings. Applicants are responsible for all certification, employment, and screening fees.
Required Qualifications
- Full professional teaching certification or substitute permit issued before December 11, 2017
- At least a 4 year Bachelor's Degree (min. 2.0 GPA) from an accredited institution
- Completed a county approved substitute training program within 1 calendar year
- Valid WV Substitute Permit issued by the WVDE
- Valid or expired (within 5 years) FULL teaching certification
- Provisional certifications/licenses, permits, and temporary certifications/licenses are not acceptable
- If not fully certified, must have completed the substitute training class prior to applying
- If holding a full teaching certification expired more than 5 years, must complete a substitute training class prior to applying
- Teaching certification or substitute teacher training certificate must be disclosed in the application and attached as a PDF document
- Not dismissed or had contracts non-renewed for cause
- No unfavorable reference recommendations
