Job Summary
Direct Support Professional (DSP) Lead responsible for developing and monitoring individual plans, maintaining client records (including medication administration records and progress notes), and ensuring a safe environment by addressing safety hazards and maintenance needs. Also performs documentation and participates in periodic meetings/trainings as required by regulations. Requires a high school diploma or GED (or experience with vulnerable populations), 1+ year experience with individuals with disabilities, medications/First Aid/CPR training (may be obtained after hire), mental health-related certification (may be obtained after hire), background check (BGS) clearance, a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory MVR, and computer literacy. Location: Vadnais Heights, MN; on-site work arrangement. Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota emphasizes an Alive Workplace and service to children, youth, families, and people with disabilities. Hiring bonus of $1500 available under certain conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school degree, GED or experience working with vulnerable populations required
- Experience and/or training of at least one year with individuals with disabilities required
- Medication administration training when required (may be obtained after hire)
- First Aid training if required and CPR Certificate (may be obtained after hire)
- Mental Health Certification or other related certification may be required (may be obtained after hire)
- Background Study (BGS) clearance is required
- Driver's license required
- Motor Vehicle Check (MVR) with a satisfactory driving record required
- Ability to read, write and use computer required
- Basic math and problem-solving skills required
- Ability to recognize boundaries
- Ability to suggest and implement strategies to enhance the service
- Computer skills that support LSS technology
- Patience, self-control, and flexibility
