Job Summary
Supervise the Day Shift insulated glass fabrication team from 6:00am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday, scheduling and directing members to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals. Lead by example in sustaining defined processes, resolving issues, and improving manufacturing methods while maintaining daily time and production records. Cross-train and rotate team members, provide feedback and coaching, and administer company policies fairly. Ensure overall employee safety by reporting hazards, leading incident investigations, and maintaining consistent communication through department meetings. Prepare training materials on safety, quality, and 5S standards, and suggest equipment changes to increase departmental efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of front-line leadership
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, manufacturing drawings, policies, and procedures in accordance with Company standards
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to develop and foster and maintain a cooperative team-oriented work environment
- Ability to effectively lead, train, and motivate team members
- Ability to work flexible hours in a dynamic manufacturing environment
- Must be flexible to work overtime as needed (shift will sometimes extend up to 2 hours when required to meet the needs of the business & our customers)
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree preferred, or a sufficient combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the position
