Job Summary
Conduct health, safety, and well-being checks for developmentally disabled clients in Day Program facilities, utilizing approved protective hold techniques. Create a learning environment by developing strategies to help clients cope with social, emotional, and physical situations while facilitating independent performance in daily living. Implement Individual Plans of Care, record data on teaching strategies and behavior plans, and monitor medical, physical, and behavioral changes daily to report incidents within 24 hours. Assist with meal preparation following dietary plans and maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the facility, properties, and vehicle. Take individuals on community-based outings ensuring all health and safety measures are followed while adhering to confidentiality policies and CRI procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to lift and transfer 70-75 lbs.
- Must be able to utilize approved protective hold techniques
- Valid CT. Driver's License
- Ability to drive own and agency vehicle
- Good driving record
- Public Service License (PSL)
- High school diploma or GED
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related Human Services area
- Associate's degree in a related field
- One (1) year experience
