Day Porter/Special Projects (Maintenance/Custodian)

Job Summary
Conduct scheduled custodial duties, environmental services, light maintenance, event set-ups, and basic labor services while assuring building systems function in accordance with health, safety, fire, and city codes. Perform tasks including floorcare, installing ceiling tiles, minor plumbing, and furniture assembly, requiring the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work repetitively for a 7.5-hour shift. Split time between routine maintenance and on-demand support for programs, with occasional evening, weekend, or holiday coverage including emergency on-call availability. Requires a current driver's license, reliable transportation, and more than one year of commercial custodial or maintenance experience.
Required Qualifications
- At least a High School diploma or GED
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to lift/push/pull/carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to squat
- Ability to bend
- Ability to reach repetitively throughout a 7.5-hour shift
- More than 1 year of commercial experience in a custodial or maintenance-oriented position doing custodial tasks, floorcare, installing ceiling tiles, minor plumbing, furniture and fixture assembly and event set-ups
- Current driver's license
- Good driving record
- Reliable transportation to travel swiftly between locations
- Computer and organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and with others
Desired Qualifications
- Some coursework or related certifications
- Experience working with maintenance reporting software
- Experience working with climate control and lighting systems
