Job Summary
Day Porter responsible for cleaning common areas (lobbies, waiting rooms, hallways, restrooms), disinfecting high-touch surfaces, disposing of trash and medical waste per guidelines, refilling dispensers, monitoring inventory of cleaning supplies, assisting with setup and cleaning of meeting rooms/event spaces, collaborating with maintenance and facility teams, and reporting maintenance/repair needs. Requires knowledge of cleaning techniques, infection control practices, ability to work in a team, physical stamina for lifting and standing, and flexibility to work day and evening shifts. Emphasizes adherence to safety protocols and proper handling of cleaning chemicals.
Required Qualifications
- Previous janitorial or custodial experience, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain cleanliness standards.
- Understanding of infection control practices and the importance of maintaining a sanitary environment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work during both day and evening shifts as required.
