Job Summary
Conduct daily custodial duties across the Amistad Elementary & Middle School facility, including mopping, sweeping, dusting furniture and fixtures, and replenishing restroom supplies. Empty waste baskets, collect debris and broken glass, and remove trash to appropriate containers. Maintain clean, sanitary conditions in office areas, lounges, corridors, stairways, and rest rooms by disinfecting lavatories and locker rooms. Ensure cleaning carts remain unattended and the custodial closet stays locked while keeping hallways clear of equipment and debris. Report structural concerns and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately and follow all PPE and safety procedures. Work part-time, 30 hours per week at a rate of $22.00/hr.
Required Qualifications
- Able to understand written and verbal instructions in English
- Able to apply common sense understanding to follow instructions that were provided
- Bending - 80% of the shift
- Carrying - 95% of the shift
- Kneeling - 75% of the shift
- Lifting - 75% of the shift
- Pulling and pushing - 80% of the shift
- Reaching overhead - 75% of the shift
- Standing - 100% of the shift
- Walking - 95% of the shift
- Grasping - 95% of the shift
- Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50lbs
- Carrying up to 30 lbs
- Reports to work on time
- Reports structural concerns to Manager immediately
- Follows safety procedures which include the correct use of PPE and other Safety requirements based on the job
- Employment is contingent upon passing a pre-employment drug screening and background check
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma is preferred
- Six months of related experience is preferred
