Job Summary
Conduct daily support for individuals with developmental disabilities, focusing on Activities of Daily Living, behavior management, and nutritional well-being. Assist with food preparation and cleaning, while fostering social engagement through community outings and inclusive activities. Administer medication per protocols, ensure site cleanliness, and transport participants using an agency vehicle. Document incidents, health changes, and compliance records accurately. Maintain certifications including AMAP, SCIP-R, CPR, and First Aid. Work full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid NYS Driver's License
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time
- Must be able to sit, walk and stand for prolonged period of time (at least 8 hours)
- Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch or stand on a stool as needed
- Must be able to demonstrate ability to work in a team environment with flexibility, keeping others informed and anticipating needs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience performing related job duties
- Proficient computer skills
- Proficient writing skills with grasp of basic grammar and spelling
- Must be efficient, well organized, and have excellent communication skills
- Valid NYS Driver's License and satisfy criteria to be a driver for the agency
