Job Summary
The Day Camp Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the camp while providing a safe environment for staff and campers to thrive. Key duties include supervising day camp counselors, planning and implementing culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate program activities, and fostering a supportive climate that aligns with YMCA core values. The coordinator serves as a positive role model for participants, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and policies. Candidates should have a high school diploma, experience working with youth and in camp settings, and required certifications within a specified timeframe.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience working with youth is required
- Previous camp experience is required
- CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Safe certifications are required within 60 days
- Meets the requirements set forth by the state licensing agency
- Documentation of DHS clearance before starting work
- Complete Blood Borne Pathogens training, and concussion training as required
Desired Qualifications
- Previous leadership experience preferred
- Experience working with youth
Additional Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must complete successful background screening and drug test for YMCA
