Job Summary

Manage and coordinate community-based vocational and employment programs, overseeing development and implementation both programmatically and fiscally. Supervise, evaluate, and provide direct support to employment specialists while coordinating entrepreneurial business ventures involving persons with disabilities. Oversee contract disbursements, procurement, and requirements relative to vocational activities, and assist with grant development for these programs. Network with business leaders to increase employment opportunities and establish internships and mentoring programs through the Business Advisory Council. Recruit, screen candidates, and assist with training as necessary, ensuring compliance with state approved objectives for Home and Community-Based Services. Report program status to the Executive Director regularly and attend conferences or training as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • BA or BS in related field
  • one-year experience working with people with disabilities in an integrated employment setting
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • three years' experience working with people with disabilities in an integrated employment setting
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to patiently impart knowledge to others
  • Ability to aid in the training of people with disabilities on the required curriculum
  • Ability to effectively work under pressure, meet deadlines, and provide multiple supports to multiple participants
  • Ability to maintain effective relationships with other management staff, employees, and the general public, demonstrating sensitivity to corporate needs, employee goodwill, and the organization's public image
  • Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must be able to travel by automobile
  • Must be able to transport participant in own vehicle
  • Must be able to cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation
  • Must be able to complete checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing
