Job Summary
Conduct distinguished teaching and scholarship in law and politics, with a focus on undergraduate mentorship, inclusive pedagogy, and interdisciplinary collaboration with Philosophy. Develop high-impact student experiences through internships, community service learning, and the pre-law advising program, while supporting initiatives like Mock Trial and the Core Four. Engage with diverse communities in the Inland Empire and contribute to civic engagement efforts. The position begins Fall 2027 at the University of Redlands for an Assistant or Associate Professor level appointment.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Political Science or related degree
- established record of teaching, scholarship, and/or professional academic experience appropriate for appointment at the advanced Assistant or Associate Professor level
- distinguished record of teaching and scholarship in law and politics
- demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring
- clear commitment to inclusive pedagogy
- active research agenda
- record of teaching and research accomplishment commensurate with their career stage in one or more areas of law and politics
- record of teaching and research accomplishment commensurate with their career stage in American or comparative constitutional law
- record of teaching and research accomplishment commensurate with their career stage in Tribal law
- record of teaching and research accomplishment commensurate with their career stage in judicial politics
- record of teaching and research accomplishment commensurate with their career stage in law and courts
- record of teaching and research accomplishment commensurate with their career stage in public law
- record of teaching and research accomplishment commensurate with their career stage in civil rights and liberties
- record of teaching and research accomplishment commensurate with their career stage in legal institutions
- record of teaching and research accomplishment commensurate with their career stage in the politics of law and legal processes
- teaching or research engages questions of ethics, justice, rights, legal theory, political theory, or the philosophical foundations of law and politics
