Job Summary
Datacenter Operations Specialist responsible for the installation, relocation, and removal of server equipment at the Tokyo Datacenter and other regional facilities as needed. You will take ownership of customer projects and relocation/complex installations, assist customers within Datacenters, and participate in on-the-job training of Datacenter Operations Engineers. The role involves analyzing data to advise the local team manager on process improvements, upgrading/downgrading server hardware, testing servers, and working with remote hands partners to support installations. Requires hands-on experience with servers in a datacenter, strong knowledge of Linux and hardware, DNS/IP/Netmask/Gateway networking, and professional English/Japanese communication. A certificate or degree in CS or related technology field is preferred, and applicants must have the right to work in Japan. On weekdays 8-hour shifts (7am–6pm) with on-call duties and a monthly Engineer on Duty allowance. Required Qualifications
- Certificate or degree in Computer Science or similar discipline preferably with an emphasis in Technology
- Must have the right to work in Japan
- Strong Knowledge of various operating systems, especially Linux
- Strong Knowledge of Hardware (Servers, Switches, KVM, Hard Drives, Memory etc.)
- Network knowledge (adjusting DNS/IP/Netmask/gateway/etc.)
- Professional and effective communication in English and Japanese
- It would be a plus if you have (basic) knowledge of SAP
