Job Summary

Serve as the senior technical escalation resource for complex Microsoft SQL Server and database-related customer issues, troubleshooting performance, availability, and administration problems across on-premises and Azure environments. Partner with Cloud Operations, Support, and Product teams to resolve high-priority escalations, validate software defects, and support implementations, upgrades, and disaster recovery planning. Provide technical leadership through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and the delivery of training, documentation, and best practices. Identify recurring challenges to recommend process improvements and automation opportunities while maintaining internal knowledge bases. This role supports customers across Mountain and Pacific time zones with a hybrid schedule for Denver-based candidates. The position requires five to ten years of SQL Server experience and offers a salary range of $100,000 to $130,000.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Five to ten years of hands-on experience administering and supporting Microsoft SQL Server in enterprise environments
  • at least five years of SQL Server administration experience
  • Strong experience troubleshooting SQL Server performance, query optimization, indexing, backups, restores, replication, and high availability solutions
  • Experience supporting databases hosted both on-premises and within Microsoft Azure environments
  • Working knowledge of SQL Server clustering, Always On Availability Groups, and disaster recovery concepts
  • Experience supporting production environments and serving as an escalation resource for complex technical issues
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor teammates and contribute to a collaborative technical culture
  • Candidates located within approximately one hour of our Denver, Colorado office are expected to work a hybrid schedule, with three days per week in the office
  • Candidates located outside of this area may work remotely while supporting the required time zones

Desired Qualifications

  • Microsoft SQL Server certification or Azure Database Administrator Associate certification
