Job Summary
Database Engineer role focused on designing, optimizing, and evolving large-scale MySQL environments in a high-volume production setting. Responsibilities include designing and evolving MySQL schemas for scalable, multi-tenant architectures; enforcing design standards including indexing, partitioning, and performance optimization; optimizing complex SQL queries; implementing automated change management, deployments, and migrations; maintaining replication, failover, and disaster recovery for high availability; monitoring and troubleshooting production issues; ensuring data integrity; supporting cross-platform integrations with MSSQL and Snowflake; and collaborating with engineering and BI teams. Proficiency in Jira and GitHub workflows, plus experience in a healthcare/revenue cycle context, are valued. The role is remote in the United States and requires legal authorization to work in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not provided.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with relational databases
- Strong experience with MySQL design, performance tuning, and optimization
- Experience supporting large-scale or multi-terabyte database environments
- Strong SQL skills with a focus on query performance and optimization
- Experience with replication, high availability, and disaster recovery
- Experience with automation and Git-based workflows
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire
