Job Summary

Install, configure, maintain, and monitor database systems and applications to ensure availability, reliability, and performance. Administer database environments by performing backups, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery support while implementing security controls, permissions, and user access. Troubleshoot database issues, support design and development activities, and assist with data migration and integration efforts. Develop documentation, coordinate with developers and system administrators, and ensure compliance with organizational policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • Three (3) years of experience in database administration, database management, data administration, or a related information technology field
  • Knowledge of database administration principles and best practices
  • Knowledge of database security, backup, and recovery procedures
  • Knowledge of relational database concepts and data management processes
  • Ability to analyze and resolve database performance and operational issues
  • Ability to develop and maintain technical documentation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Proficiency with database management tools and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance if required

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense or Federal Government programs
  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization
  • Experience supporting backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes
  • Experience working with enterprise database environments
