Job Summary
As a Database Administrator, you will collaborate with software developers and stakeholders to deliver software solutions in an Agile environment, focusing on supporting national security through innovative data systems. Key responsibilities include providing architectural guidance, championing data architecture best practices, and delivering deployable software solutions. Required skills include expertise in RDBMS and NoSQL databases, strong SQL capabilities, and experience with cloud-based database services. A minimum of seven years of experience in database management and a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is essential.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to pass CBP background investigation
- College degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems or a related discipline
- At least seven (7) years related technical experience with databases
- Experience with data modeling, tuning, scaling, security, backup, recovery, and integrity of RDBMS, specifically PostgreSQL in AWS
- Strong SQL skills for querying, analyzing, and managing data
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB, DocumentDB, or Mongo
- Experience with geospatial data management
- Experience with Apache Kafka for messaging and data streaming
- Experience with data governance platforms such as Collibra
- Experience in Continuous integration, Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) and DevOps processes and tools
- Experience implementing or migrating to Cloud environments like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure
