Job Summary
Cloud Services Team seeks a Database Administrator to design, implement, and manage large-scale, high-performance databases across PostgreSQL and multi-cloud environments. You will architect and optimize database infrastructures for large-scale, high-traffic workloads, administer and maintain clusters, design backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies, and automate operational processes using infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, OpenTofu, CloudFormation) plus Ansible and GitLab CI. You’ll optimize performance across schema design, query execution, indexing, caching, and storage; configure replication and sharding for high availability and geo-distribution; ensure SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR compliance, and enforce database security best practices. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of DBA experience in production-grade environments, deep PostgreSQL knowledge, multi-cloud expertise, SQL tuning prowess, experience with replication/partitioning/clustering, backup/restore/failover proficiency, and skills in scripting (Python, Bash, Go) along with Kubernetes deployments and observability stacks. English at least B1 for effective communication, plus familiarity with IaC tooling (Terraform/OpenTofu/CloudFormation). Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience as a DBA in production-grade, distributed environments
- Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL
- Proven expertise in managing databases across major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, Yandex Cloud)
- Advanced expertise in SQL query tuning, schema optimization, and indexing strategies
- Strong experience with replication, partitioning, and clustering in high-availability systems
- Proficiency in backup, restore, and failover mechanisms in multi-AZ and multi-region setups
- Skills in automation and scripting (Python, Bash, Go)
- Familiarity with Kubernetes-based deployments and modern observability stacks (Prometheus, Datadog, AWS CloudWatch)
- B1 or higher English level for effective communication with an international team
- Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, OpenTofu, CloudFormation)
