Job Summary
Database Administrator for a 30-month HBITS Contract with the State of New York. Role requires installing, configuring, patching, upgrading, and maintaining Oracle Database 12c or higher in Unix-like environments, with multitenant RAC and DataGuard, plus high availability via Oracle Database Appliance. Responsibilities include troubleshooting critical issues with Oracle Support Services, performing Data Pump Export/Import and RMAN backup/recovery, managing OEM 13c+ for proactive issue detection, and applying patches/upgrades. Must document processes and system architecture; coordinate with storage, network, and application teams; work under the HBITS contract in Albany, NY. Qualifications include Oracle certification (OCP/OCPCP, 12c+), extensive hands-on experience (multi-year) across installation, HA configurations, OEM tooling, APEX, and thorough documentation. Required Qualifications
- Oracle Database Administration 2019 Certified Professional -or- OCP certification in version 12c or higher
- 84 months of experience installing, configuring, patching, upgrading, and maintaining Oracle database 12c or higher in Unix-like environment (AIX, Linux) with multitenant RAC and DataGuard
- 84 months of experience troubleshooting Oracle 12c+ critical issues with Oracle Support Services
- 36 months of experience with Oracle Database Appliance HA configurations (12c+ RAC)
- 84 months of experience troubleshooting Oracle 12c+ database performance with cross-team coordination
- 84 months of experience using Data Pump Export/Import and RMAN for backup/recovery
- 84 months of experience installing/configuring/patching/upgrading/maintaining OEM 13c+ in Unix-like environments
- 84 months of experience utilizing OEM features like metric extensions, monitoring templates
- 36 months of experience with Oracle APEX on 12c+
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
- 84 months of experience documenting processes including system architecture diagrams
- 36 months of experience maintaining server hardware (racking, cabling, component replacement)
